Earlier this month, an interview I did with Christine Heppermann about her YA volume, Poisoned Apples: Poems for You My Pretty, was published over at Three Drops from a Cauldron.
I found Poisoned Apples to be surprisingly, and refreshingly, feminist. These are not your traditional stock female fairy tale characters nor are these fluffy bedtime stories. This is a book I wish I had access to when I was a teen and I recommend it for those who have teens, who have a lot of contact with teens, or who want to get in touch with their inner teen. Christine was kind enough to record a couple of her poems from the volume, and those recordings are also published over at Three Drops so check ’em out.
